Reflecting
Looking back on my music experiences in 2022, I’ve had a marvelous year! I’ve had so many great collaborations and projects that gave me all lots of joy and pleasure. I had several great concerts with all my duos with; Maria Mendes, Teus Nobel, Marnix Busstra. A few lovely concerts with VinnieVibes, TRIFID, Bossche Kornuiten, De Funfare. Some great projects such as the educational concert at Festival Classique, the first shows with our Theatershow RAAK! together with Bart de Rijk and orchestras in The Netherlands.

Moreover there were great projects and concerts with the orchestras where I conduct; The Black Sheep Swing Band, Mallet Percussion Band, LightTown Bigband. Many concerts with the Orchestra of the Dutch Customs where I am principal percussionist and conductor of its Bigband. And in november a great solo project with Big band Beeg and the Percussion Ensemble of the Koninklijke Oude Harmonie van Eijsden. This concert was broadcasted on regional radiostation L1 on January 1st 2023.

Besides performing I also became coordinator of the Percussion Department at AMPA, the Conservatory in Tilburg (NL). Next to being a percussion professor, this function was also really challenging and rewarding for me. I’ve hosted masterclasses with Nuno Aroso, Andrey Doynikov and Jefferey Davis. In 2023 we’re even hosting our first ever AMPA PERCUSSION FESTIVAL!

Also great to share is that in 2022 I became one of the ‘Creative Artists’ of Paradox Tilburg where I rent a studio workspace as well.

Dreaming
What does 2023 have planned for me? This is a tough question, since as a music artist and entrepreneur I am constantly thinking of ways to get (more) creative. The difficulty nowadays is that I have 2 daughters that require quite some attention, since they’re both still full power diaper wearers!
Some of my plans I would love to share and put on ‘paper’ here, so it will also help me reach those goals easier.


- A Duo program including tours and recordings with pianist Kari Ikonen. We compose new works and commission 1 or 2 new works by Jesse Passenier who initially got us together for his project and album recording Fight for Light.
- Realizing more concerts with RAAK! (approx. 10 orchestras got canceled/postponed due to Covid back in 2020) (check CONCERTS for more info)
- Updating my sheet music and therefor updating my STORE area on my website
- Writing new solo-, ensemble works
- Growing my Spotify Account
- Growing my Youtube Account
- Hopefully perform solo concerts with ADDA Symfonica and the marvelous works of Jesse Passenier
- Solo Concertos with the Dutch Customs Orchestra (check CONCERTS for more info)
- Creating, creating, creating!
