15 for Solo Vibraphone & Percussion Ensemble
The debut album entitled '15' is a musical monument by Vincent Houdijk (1981) for his brother Ashley, 3 years older, also a percussionist, who did not survive the consequences of the traumatic Hercules plane crash disaster in Eindhoven on July 15, 1996. Vincent was 15 years old at the time. The CD is also an inspiring audio biography of 15 crucial years of his life - from the disaster day to the studio recordings of his first CD - which marks his musical journey of discovery, which in fact began on the day he decided to ' sticks' from his brother.
The title composition '15' - the last and most intense work on the CD - is of course a tribute to his brother, whom Vincent considers the main inspiration of his musical career. The composition '15' symbolizes his energy, zest for life and passion for music. The debut album consists of 7 compositions with musical contributions from the famous jazz musicians Eric Vloeimans (trumpet), Bert Boeren (trombone) and Tabla player Walid Nowrouzi. And of course his regular band VinnieVibes.
This arrangement was made by Vincent Houdijk especially to play ‘15’ as a Vibraphone Solo with Percussion Ensemble.
This 10 minute piece will be an incredible addition to your concert program!
